I took a job with Michael Graves and found myself working alongside architects and textile designers on huge development projects all over the world. This job was unlike anything I had ever done before or since.
Objective 1, Sentosa World Resorts:
I was tasked with creating orchid imagery to go inside the Festive Hotel guest rooms along with other artwork throughout the hotels and function space.
Sentosa World Resorts is a huge complex in Singapore that had multiple hotels, casino, convention center and waterparks. Michael Graves was designing everything- the carpet, the furniture, the light fixtures- even the silverware.
Objective 2, St. Regis Cairo:
Here, a co-worker and I were tasked with creating all the exterior/interior way-finding signage along with the parking garage signage with a partner firm HKS.
We gave presentations to Qatari Diar in the NY office and advised on the material and placement of all signage. I had arabic installed on my computer, everything had to be bi-lingual (english & arabic) This hotel still has yet to open (2018), wonder what they went with.
Objective 3, Drive Medical:
Michael Graves was in a motorized wheelchair after a medical mis-hap and wanted to create a product line of affordable, durable medical goods for the masses in collaboration with DRIVE medical. I worked on packaging for this line that they were hoping to sell in Walgreens.
